Lee boys wrestling travels to Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE — The Lee County wrestling team had a strong showing at the Fayette County Christmas Classic on Dec. 30-31, where they faced off against more than 30 teams that participated.
The Trojans finished fourth overall and several individual wrestlers stood out.
Rashaud Anthony (112 pounds) defeated three of the top wrestlers in Georgia en route to his first-place finish, while Zach Thompson (119) won the championship on a takedown with one second left in overtime against Nick Paden from Laure County, Ky. — Paden was previously undefeated.
Connor Cloud (171) also made it to the finals for Lee County, which heads to the area 1-AAAA Dual Team Championship at Hardaway in Columbus on Jan. 8.
