LEESBURG — Manager John Hill, left, and a barbecue customer consider fire damage to the storefront of Meatslanger’s Bar-B-Cue at 1343 Highway 19 South in Leesburg. Hill said he was called to the restaurant around 8:30 a.m. when a former employee noticed the relatively minor blaze. According to Hill, the Lee County Fire Department was already on the premises to extinguish the fire, which was caused by an electrical shortage in the restaurant’s neon pig sign. The restaurant sustained little or no damage to the eating area, Hill said, so it’s business as usual.
