Albany airport cancels seven outbound/inbound flights

ALBANY — Southwest Georgia Regional Airport is closed to general aviation in advance of Hurricane Irma. It is expected to reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday, city of Albany officials said this evening.

Delta Air Lines has canceled a total of seven flights.

Sunday’s late flight in from Atlanta at 9:45 p.m. has been canceled, as have all five flights (three outbound and two inbound to Albany) that had been scheduled for Monday. Tuesday’s early flight — an outbound that has been scheduled for 5:30 a.m. — also has been canceled.

The airport was to close after the final non-canceled flight today.
