ALBANY — Author Melissa Hudson seeks to answer the question of why women make unwise relationship decisions in her new Christian relationship book “Spells of Hell: Why We Keep Choosing the Wrong Men.”

Hudson, an educator from the Albany area, said she is an advocate for godly relationships and is against domestic violence, where many women who have chosen the wrong men for mates find themselves.

“The book explains why many females are in endless marriages and relationships with men who do not value them as women,” Hudson said in a news release. “Many females do not know their self-worth and choose men by the world’s standards instead of through the eyes of God. The book’s overall message is to seek God first before seeking a mate.

“God allows courtships to manifest into wonderful marriages.”

The book can be found at Books-a-Million, Barnes & Noble and through online retailers. It also can be purchased at ebook retailers.

Hudson said her recent screenplay “Voodoo Trap” is being reviewed by Hollywood producers to obtain film rights. She has a master’s degree in English and creative writing, a master’s degree in education and a bachelor of arts degree in psychology.

In 2017, Hudson promoted the re-release of her fictional novel “Midnight Creeping, Early Morning Reaping” that was re-published by Dragonfly Publishing as part of a new deal with the company. She had two background roles for “Motives 2: Retribution,” which was released in 2007.

Her other titles include “Not My Child” and “Hell in Heels: Jealously, Vengeance and Envy Amongst Women.” She is also a published poet. Hudson was nominated for the Georgia Author of the Year Award in 2012 for her book “The Female Fool: 10 Reasons Why You Aren’t Attracting a Good Christian Man.”

Hudson also appeared on national television, including the syndicated “Montel Williams Show,” and was featured in “Woman” magazine in 2009. She is a widow with one son.
