Ben Haggerty has joined the law firm of Gardner, Willis, Sweat, Plaire & Pickett LLP as an associate. Haggerty, an Albany native, graduated from Valdosta State University in 2013 with a bachelor of science in psychology. This year, Haggerty earned his juris doctorate from John Marshall Law School in Atlanta and passed the Georgia Bar Examination in July.
He was sworn in to practice law in Georgia by Dougherty Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Willie Lockette and into the Supreme Court of Georgia by Justice Carol Hunstein. During law school, Haggerty interned with the Dougherty County District Attorney’s Office.
At Gardner, Willis, Sweat, Plaire & Pickett, Haggerty is a member of the firm’s business litigation team that is focused on representation of financial institutions and business litigation.
Haggety is an active member of the Artesian City Sertoma Club in Albany.
