Draffin & Tucker LLP has announced two recent promotions.
Valerie Bowron has been promoted to manager in the firm’s healthcare practice where she primarily focuses on auditing healthcare entities and preparing Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement reporting forms, as well as employee benefit plans. She is a graduate of Troy University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and a Master of Business Administration in accounting.
Merrit Garnto has been promoted to senior in the firm’s commercial practice, where she primarily prepares tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trust and estates. She also works with commercial entities on audits, reviews, compilation and report preparation. She is a graduate of Georgia Southern University, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and a Master of Accountancy.

Jason Rooks has been promoted to senior vice president/commercial lending manager at Flint Community Bank in Albany. Rooks holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Georgia Southern University and is a graduate of The Georgia Banking School at University of Georgia. Rooks was in community banking for 10 years before joining Flint Community Bank in 2011 as vice president/commercial lender. Outside of the bank, he serves as chair-elect of Community Bankers of Georgia Leadership Division and on the Board of Directors for Leadership Albany Inc. He previously served as chairman for Lee County Chamber of Commerce and on the boards for United Way of Southwest Georgia and Albany Sertoma Club. He is a graduate of Leadership Lee (2008) and Leadership Albany (2010), and is a member of Greenbriar Church.
