ALBANY — An Albany man, identified as Gary Randall, has made his way to safety after a boat he and a fishing companion were using overturned in a holding pond near Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Westover Boulevard Thursday afternoon.

The fishing partner of the man identified as Randall made it to safety shortly after the boat overturned, according to reports, but Randall did not immediately make his way to land. EMS and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to the scene, and a little after 1 p.m., EMS said both fishermen were safe.

The pair were fishing in the holding pond at 1000 S. Westover Blvd.
