Albany native serves in U.S. Navy
PHILIPPINE SEA — U.S. Navy Aviation Structural Mechanic 2nd Class Brian Simmons from Albany lays up plies for carbon fiber lamination in the composite shop aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz. Nimitz is in the 7th fleet conducting routine operations. 7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with 35 maritime nations in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
