CUTHBERT — The Andrew College AndrewServes Servant Leadership Program welcomed its scholars to campus last week to attend the group’s annual fall retreat. Seven returning AndrewServes Scholars joined 11 freshmen as they participated in name games and team-building challenges.
The retreat was held at The Rock Ranch in The Rock, Georgia. Scholars completed a series of challenges designed to target and strengthen particular skills needed to work in group settings. The day ended with thrilling zipline rides and a presentation on the model of service that the Truett Cathy family teaches their employees.
“It’s always fun to watch a group get to know each other and figure out the dynamics of working together,” Malanie Burnett, the director of AndrewServes, said. “We have a diverse group of hardworking students, and I am excited to see what the year will bring as we begin our service to the community.”
The AndrewServes Servant Leadership Program will kick off the 2016-2017 school year on Aug. 20 with its annual Day of Service. Bringing faculty, staff and students together in support of the local community, the Day of Service focuses on service projects throughout Randolph County.
