APD respond to car break-ins, burglary
At least $4,000 worth of items taken in robbery

ALBANY — Albany Police Department officers responded to various calls in recent days, including entering autos and burglary, according to a notice sent from the department.
Officers responded to an entering auto call on the 1200 block of Mulberry Avenue Monday morning. The incident occurred between 6:40-6:45 a.m., according to the responding officer’s report. Patrick Rowe reported he heard his vehicle’s alarm sound. Rowe said when he got his key fob to turn off the alarm, he accidentally hit the unlock button. Rowe reported he discovered his passenger-side door open and the following items missing from his car: cigars, worth $300 (recovered); iPhone 6, worth $400; iPhone 7 Plus, worth $800, and GPS, worth $400.
Rowe reported he found his wife’s vehicle had also been entered through the passenger-side door, and four dollars in change were taken from her vehicle.
Rowe said a neighbor advised seeing a black male wearing all black. There are no other suspects or witness information available.
APD officers responded to another entering auto on the 1200 block on the Mulberry Avenue, which also occurred between 6:40-6:45 a.m. Monday morning.
Teletrice Brantley reported that an unknown person entered her vehicle’s driver-side door and took a purple wallet (recovered), $20 in cash, river’s license and a Social Security card.
There are no known suspects or witnesses at this time; however, APD officials said this case is more than likely related to the previous case.
Local police responded to a second-degree burglary that occurred between 4 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Monday on the 2300 block of East Broad Avenue. Officers found broken locks on the residence’s front gate. Police said the scene has been processed. One 65-inch RCA TV, valued at $2,500, and a green Mongoose bike, worth $129, were taken.
