ALBANY — Albany police responded to a shooting incident on South Washington Street early Sunday afternoon, according to a release from APD.

The release indicated that responding APD officers encountered a 20-year-old male, who was the victim of a single gunshot wound to his right shoulder, at 12:12 p.m. Sunday. Emergency Medical Services personnel also responded to the scene and transported the shooting victim to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, according to the news release.

APD detectives responded to the scene on the 2200 block of South Washington to investigate the shooting. No name of the victim was included in the release, and there was no indication that police were looking at a possible suspect or suspects.

No information was available on the condition of the victim at The Herald’s press time.
