Brian Kemp brings statewide tour to Albany
Secretary of state/gubernatorial candidate brings campaign to Dougherty County

ALBANY — Republican gubernatorial candidate Brian Kemp gave a speech and met with supporters during a fly-in campaign stop at Albany’s Eagles of America base at the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport on Monday.
The stop was part of a statewide tour Kemp was making in advance of today’s primary elections.
“We started this campaign literally 14 months ago with the message of putting Georgians first,” Kemp said. “We’ve literally been to all corners of our state. …We’re the first campaign to organize in all 159 counties, and that’s going to serve us well tomorrow night when the returns start coming in.
“But we’ve also worked very hard on raising the resources that we need to get our message out to the mass of voters all over this state. I’m very pleased by that (and) having the most donors of anybody in the Republican primary. It just shows that hard-working Georgians and Georgia families are moving our way.”
Kemp mentioned that although recent polls show that his campaign is “surging,” he urged his supporters to sustain the momentum through election night.
“We’ve got to get the Kemp army out to vote tomorrow, and we’ll have a great night and get in that runoff, where there’ll be a true contrast for who’s going to put Georgians first ahead of the special interest, the status quo, the politically correct and those that are here illegally,” the candidate said.
Kemp went on to tell the audience about his four-point plan for the governor’s office: cutting government regulations, fundamentally reforming state government by implementing a spending cap that’s tied to population and inflation, ensuring that Georgians have the same opportunities as everyone else regardless of what part of the state they live in, and keeping Georgia families safe.
“My commitment to you is that if you will get out and work hard for us over these next hours til the polls close at 7 o’clock tomorrow night, then as governor, I’ll work hard every day to put you all first,” he said.
