LEESBURG — Lee County issued flood warnings for the Kinchafoonee Creek as recent rain caused it to raise.
This comes as some roads in the county remain impacted by heavy rain earlier in the month.
The National Weather Service office in Tallahassee said the creek is predicted to enter the action stage at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, getting up to 10 feet with an increase to its predicted peak of 11.8 feet at 1 a.m. on Thursday. The action stage is the flood category where rivers are monitored for increase in levels and water flow.
The Kinchafoonee gauge at 11 miles east of Dawson at Pinewood Road in Lee County would record minor flood stage levels if it reached 13 feet.
