Holiday activities bring some risk of accidents and injuries. Dougherty County EMS Director Sam Allen recommends keeping safety in mind over the 4th of July holiday period.

ALBANY — The Dougherty County Police Department responded to at least 34 calls Friday and Saturday.
Among the calls were:
— Personal welfare check on the 2600 block of Lonesome Road and the 100 block of South Rosewood Drive;
— Business burglary on the 1000 block of Abigail Plantation Road;
— Civil issue on the 3000 block of Calvary Road and the 1800 block of Lily Pond Road;
— Wreck with injuries on Moultrie Road and South Mock Road, and on the 2500 block of Radium Springs Road;
— Suspicious auto on the 3000 block of Leary Road and the 3400 block of Hedge Apple Lane;
— Sexual assault on the 3000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. St.;
— Family violence on the 4400 block of Stage Coach Road, the 6100 block of Jenkins Road, he 500 block of Old Pretoria Road and the 2500 block of Great Oak St.
— Suspicious person on the 3300 block of Sylvester Road;
— Contact person (animals out) on the 1200 block of McKenzie Road;
— Assist motorist on the 3300 block of Sylvester Road and on the 2000 block of McAdams Road;
— Criminal trespass on the 6000 block of Newton Road;
— Animal running at large on the 1000 block of Butternut Avenue;
— Burglary alarm on the 1400 block of Old Pretoria Road and on the 4500 block of La Costa Drive;
— Unwanted guest on the 300 block of Pinson Road;
— Animal cruelty on the 3600 block of Victory Street;
— Traffic hazard on Liberty Expressway and Holly Drive;
— Traffic control on the 4300 block of Sylvester Road;
— Traffic arrest on the 2900 block of Sylvester Road;
— Theft by taking on the 1200 block of Stephen Lane;
— Animal call on the 100 block of Redbud Road.
Reports were not available Sunday for the Albany Police Department, Albany Fire Department and Dougherty County Emergency Management Services.
