Dougherty Democrats offer voting date reminders
Early primary voting starts May 2, will continue through May 20

ALBANY — Dougherty County Democratic Party Chairwoman Constance Burkes has released a schedule of dates associated with the May 24 general primary election as a reminder for Democratic voters.
Key dates mentioned by Burkes in the release include:
— April 5: absentee ballots sent to military personnel (Absentee ballots will be sent to the general population immediately after military ballots have been mailed);
— May 18: Last day Elections officials will mail out absentee applications for the Primary Election;
— May 20: Last day Elections officials will mail out absentee ballots;
— May 24 (7 p.m.): Last day to return absentee ballots to elections office.
Burkes noted that early voting locally will begin on May 2 and continue weekdays through May 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Room 220 of the downtown Government Center at 222 Pine Ave. Voting will be conducted in the Candy Room of the 125 Pine Ave. Riverfront Resource Center May 16-20, and a state-mandated Saturday vote day will be held May 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Candy Room.
The Democratic primary is scheduled May 24 with voting at all county precincts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Republican primary will be held the same day, with all voting guidelines applying to GOP voters as well.
