University of Maryland Global Campus — Dean’s List

ADELPHI, MD — More than 11,500 University of Maryland Global Campus students were named to the Dean’s List for the summer 2025 term. To be eligible for the honor, a student must complete at least six credits during the term, earn a grade-point average of at least 3.5, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at UMGC.

Troy University — Global Scholars

TROY, Ala. — Troy University has announced its inaugural cohort of the University Honors Global Scholars Program. The program provides an elite academic experience for high-achieving students, blending interdisciplinary learning with global engagement.  Local students in the program include Ethan Newsome of Leesburg.

More than 520 incoming freshmen began classes at Georgia Southwestern State University recently, including a number of local students:

First-year students were officially welcomed to the University community at the Freshman Convocation held. Each student was given a silver Presidential Challenge Coin by GSW President Michelle Johnston to signify the beginning of their college journey at Georgia Southwestern. Upon graduation, they will receive a gold coin in its place, bestowing the silver coin to someone who made a signigicant impact on them during their time at Georgia Southwestern.
