Lee Schools Superintendent Jason Miller announces plans to step down

LEESBURG — Jason Miller, the Superintendent of Lee County Schools who has worked with the system for the past 32 years, announced his pending retirement to staff members earlier this week.
Miller will continue his duties as superintendent until the end of June.
Miller has worked in the Lee County School System as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, principal, and superintendent. He has served as superintendent since July 2015 and is credited with leading the Lee system through many changes and improvements over the years.
Officials with the Lee County Board of Education said they will begin an immediate search for the next superintendent of schools in order to ensure an effective process and a smooth transition.
