ALBANY — Harry James, who is collecting signatures in an effort to qualify as an independent candidate in the Nov. 6 race for the Dougherty County Commission chairmanship, will host a get out the vote rally Saturday.

James, a former county commissioner who decided to forego political party affiliation in his quest to unseat Cohilas, said all candidates running for state or local office are invited to attend the rally and meet county voters. The event will start at 1 p.m. and continue until 5 p.m. at 407 S. Slappey Blvd., in the former Brady Keys Building.

The public is invited to come out and meet the candidates. Free fish and fries will be served.

A live remote radio broadcast will be held as part of the rally.
