January national days continue the fun, create family traditions
National Apricot Day, National Pharmacist Day and National Dress Up Your Pet Day are in January

ALBANY — New Year’s Day celebrations are trickling to an end, but the fun does not stop there. Before you know it, every store in town will be bright pink and red and covered in hearts.
Before we toss January aside like an old boot, here are some unique, unofficial national days to brighten up any week.
Starting from Wednesday, there was National Science Fiction Day, National Personal Trainer Awareness Day, National Buffet Day and National Cream Puff Day creating a combination of aliens, dessert, all-you-can-eat meals and appreciation for individuals who have dedicated their careers to making other people healthier.
Today, people can celebrate National Chocolate Covered Cherry Day, National Drinking Straw Day and National Fruitcake Toss Day. New annual family traditions can be made on Friday with National Spaghetti Day, National Trivia Day and National Missouri Day.
Saturday is National Keto Day. The keto diet is a high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet meant to help the dieter lose weight and control blood sugar, but it is also National Whipped Cream Day. Saturday will also be National Bird Day and National Screenwriters Day, which could lend to bird or movie watching depending on the weather.
Sunday is National Bean Day and National Cuddle Up Day. It will also be National Shortbread Day and National Technology Day. The first Monday in January is National Thank God It’s Monday Day, as well as National Tempura Day and National Bobblehead Day.
