Kay named Americus Main Street director
New manager has experience in Michigan, Ohio, Maryland

AMERICUS — City Manager Steve Kennedy announced recently that Patrick Kay has been selected to become Americus’ new Main Street director.
Kay, one of three finalists for the job, has served the past several years as executive director of the Manistee Main Street Downtown Development Authority in Manistee, Mich. He’d previously served as executive director of Downtown Middleton (Ohio) Inc. and Brunswick Main Street Inc. of Brunswick, Md.
In total, Kay has 10 years of experience in Main Street revitalization and organizational fundraising, downtown real estate development and construction, and the creation and inception of innovative programs that officials say have the potential to benefit Americus.
Kay will start his tenure as Main Street director of Americus on Monday.
