LEESBURG — Roadside storm debris pickup has been halted in Lee County due to the weather conditions, Lee Co-manager Christi Dockery said in a news release.
The public and the media will be notified when debris pickup will resume.
Stroud Road and Tower Place Lane debris drop-off sites are closed to the public due to weather conditions. Their locations are:
Stroud Road — The dirt road behind Philema Road Baptist Church that connects Sportsman’s Club Road and Stocks Dairy Road;
Tower Place Lane — Off U.S. Highway 82 behind the future Hog N Bones Restaurant and next to the Salt Lick Sausage Co. store.
“We encourage citizens to continue to get any debris ready for pick up,” Dockery said in the release. “The trucks will be running from dawn to dusk, seven days a week, weather permitting, and will be making several rounds over the coming months. There is not a set schedule in terms of what street the trucks will be working on any given day.”
Household materials and any debris other than natural vegetation will be accepted from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Lee County Landfill, located at 759 Georgia Highway 32 East.
The landfill may be contacted at (229) 759-6009.
“We thank the citizens of Lee County for your patience and cooperation during this time,” Dockery said.
