Masters viewing party to benefit ARC child development center

ALBANY _ Southwest Georgians can enjoy a Masters golf tournament party Sunday and support Albany ARC Preschool — The Kids’ Corner Child Development Center at the same time.

Supporters can attend Putting for Preschool — a Master’s Viewing Party for the center, which provides early intervention services for typical and atypical children. The viewing party starts at 4 p.m. and ends when the green jacket is presented. Those attending will gather at Doublegate Country Club’s patio and greens to watch the final round on multiple screens while enjoying traditional Masters fare food, Arnold Palmer Tea and bidding on unique silent auction items.

There will be outdoor activities for children provided by the Junior League of Albany. A highlight of the event will be the raffle drawing for a weekend getaway for two to a professional sporting event in the city of your choice- flight and hotel included. The “Putt your way to the Ultimate Sports Getaway for 2 Raffle” is sponsored by Doherty, Duggan, Hart and Tiernan Insurors.

Flint, as a Community Advocate Corporate Member, is presenting Putting for Preschool and volunteers from the Junior League of Albany will be on hand. The proceeds from the event will go to a planned expansion of The Kids’ Corner Child Development Center, the only program of its kind in the Albany area.

The Child Development Center is designed to provide services to families with children at risk. Each student has an Individual Treatment Plan to incorporate speech, occupational and or physical therapy to help them grow mentally, socially, emotionally and physically. Upon completing Albany ARC’s Child Development Program, the students are prepared to streamline into a regular school environment and their parents are prepared to advocate for their children’s education.

Masters viewing tickets are $40 per person. The Ultimate Sports Getaway Raffle tickets are $25 each or 5 for $100. You do not have to be present to win.
