ALBANY — City of Albany repairmen worked on a faulty wire Monday that left a downtown streetlight inoperable over the weekend. With the light at the corner of Pine Avenue and Washington Street out of service, Albany Police Department officers initially stood at the intersection and directed traffic. The city eventually placed temporary stop signs for traffic traveling east and west on Pine and northbound traffic on one-way Washington. City officials said Monday the culprit was a faulty wire.
