ALBANY — Calling all summer camps! If your organization, institution, program, agency or nonprofit has a summer camp planned this year, The Herald wants to know about it … as do all the kids and parents getting an early jump on planning summer vacations.

In order to let potential participants know about what camp opportunities are available, this newspaper solicits and compiles information on area camps and spreads the word to southwest Georgians in our Southview section. This year’s special camp Southview edition is planned for May 6 (and possibly subsequent) publication.

The focus of the special Southview camp edition is summer camps that Southwest Georgia children and youths can attend while school is out.

For your camp to be included, we need the information by noon April 27.

NEEDED INFO

Here’s what we need to know to have your camp included:

— Camp name

— Dates and times

— Location

— Organization

— Who it’s for (ages, gender, etc.)

— Brief information on what the camp will entail (be concise regarding activities; phrases such as “You’ll have a great time doing …” won’t be included);

— Cost

— Brief list of the types of items campers will need to bring, if any

— Contact information (who to ask for/phone/email/website) for parents of interested children and/or youths (this information will be included in the listing);

— Contact information if we have any questions. (This will not be included in the listing).

If you have a photo of a previous camp you’d like to submit, we’ll include it with the listings online. We’ll also include as many as possible in the print edition. Photos should be submitted in jpg format. Print photos may also be dropped off at our offices.
