A popular Albany child day care center has informed parents that it will be closing at the end of the year, according to a letter sent to parents Wednesday.
The child care center at Sherwood Baptist Church sent letters to parents Wednesday saying that a mixture of increasing expenses and state regulations and decreasing revenues has prompted church officials to close the facility as of Dec. 30.
Center Director Merry Johnson issued a statement Wednesday night explaining why church officials believed it was no longer a viable operation.
