Perfect example of collusion: Winfred Dukes, James Bush, Dean Phinazee and Milton Griffin.

Thank you, Terry Lewis and Carlton Fletcher, for pointing out the attempt by members of the School Board to illegally give a $4 million contract to a person who was not qualified to do the job. And thank you, Mr. Dyer, for reviewing this fiasco.

Wow, reading the names of all those artists and looking at the Sold Out notices at the Civic Center sure brought back some memories. Best of luck to Spectra and Mr. Small.

Those on the school board who voted to use Winfred Dukes’ construction firm without a bond are either racist, woefully ignorant or expecting “under the table” gratuities.

Saying what Trump lies about is easy: everything.

Police Chief Michael Persley is doing a nice job. I appreciate his leadership and the tone he sets with the many excellent police serving our community.

Will Geer and his “followers” hate Albany and it’s citizens. You are only able to be on their FB page if you bow down to his agenda of causing harm to Albany. He and his admins need to be exterminated. #Bullies #notwelcome #cancertomytown.

Here we go again with the fireworks! Area law enforcement agencies either do not know the laws of the state of Georgia or, if they do, choose not to enforce them. “Georgians can set off fireworks on normal days until 9 p.m., until midnight on the Fourth of July, according to the legislation.”

Remember when it was just hot in the summer and cold in the winter? Now the “heat waves that are affecting millions” or “polar vortexes” have got kids scared to go outside. Pretty sure we had the same weather when I was growing up, and we just drank more water when it was hot and we put more clothes on when it was cold

Creede Hinshaw’s article in Friday’s paper is excellent. No matter where you are on the political spectrum, you should read it.

A construction manager is a lazy contractor who’d rather secure a job, beat up the subcontractors and take home 25 percent of the cost of the job. Their only costs are a cellphone, a fax machine and their kitchen table.

Lamar Hudgins said the 3-mill hike is “just the cost of doing business.” I think if they were better stewards of taxpayer money, the cost of business would not be so high.

What happened to the community service program in Albany? I don’t see anybody doing anything.

OK, Lee County, let’s get it built.

In support of immigration, we continue to hear “We are a nation of immigrants.” This is technically true, but from an accurate standpoint, the facts are: 1) this country was founded primarily by European immigrants 2) the country was built by European immigrants and 3) these immigrants and their descendents fought and died in a war against an overwhelming opponent before our final victory.

Wall Street Journal reports that the firms that got the big tax breaks are hording them rather than putting the money back into the economy.
