I guess Phyllis banks was trying to comfort the visitors in town for the marathon, but I could not help but laugh when on TV she reported that the murder on Whispering Pines Road was in an isolated area, not dangerous to anyone else. Isolated? Whispering Pines Road is almost the center of our city.

Sylvester Board of Education should get rid of the superintendent. The teachers, principles, bus shop and cafeteria people are scared to death for their jobs if they disagree with him on anything. He is unfair, a bully who wants to be a dictator. There is no such thing as fair employment in the Worth County School System.

Leave it to Fletcher to make a saint of Joel Wernick. The man made a lot of money for the hospital system, it’s true, but let’s not forget that he made a big pile of money for himself.

The Chris Brubeck and Triple Play Concert with the Albany Symphony was beyond excellent. My only regrets were that I had to choose between them and my favorite local jazz band, Southern Art Music Ensemble, playing at the Downtown Streetfest, and that those guys had to miss such a wonderful concert.

Good article by Jennifer Parks on the trauma center coming to Phoebe. That’s quite a process.

The people who oppose the liquor store show very little “situational awareness” in that Planning posted required notices, but no one in the neighborhood paid any attention. They are hoping the horse will come back to the barn when they should have kept the barn door closed. No amount of whitewash will hide the lack of “situational awareness.”

I agree with Carlton Fletcher: The Triple Play/Albany Symphony rehearsal was amazing to watch. The casual approach made it even more fun. And, by the way, loved the picture of Chris Brubeck on the front of Sunday’s Herald.

A little leaven leaveneth the whole (church) lump.

How do we know robbing the earth of solar energy normally absorbed by it is not a form pollution itself?

Let’s don’t ever lose sight of how valuable our artistic groups like the Symphony Orchestra, the art museum, the Arts Council, Thronateeska, Theatre Albany, the chorale, Chehaw, the RiverQuarium and the Civil Rights Institute are to our community. Let’s support them!

Blue ain’t your color, that’s what Keith sings. He meant that. “Ripcord” is an ode to the T-10 and thanking God.

Another heavy rain, another day of self-important histrionics by Channel 10. Let’s make some news!

Gov. Kemp: You should donate that 150 million to fusion research if you want a return. Solar is a toy, especially in a region where it is always cloudy.

I’m with you, Fletcher. There’s no better time than baseball season. I have my own memories from back in the day, but I have to admit that I never batted 1.000 in a season, not even in T-Ball!

I wish Mr. Wernick would have allowed himself to address these people who have taken shots at him throughout his career. I for one appreciate all he did for Phoebe and Albany and wish him the best in retirement.
