ALBANY — The third suspect in the fatal shooting of Johnny Young, 33, turned himself in on Wednesday, officials with the Albany Police Department said.
Dontavious “June June” Thomas, 30, was wanted by the APD for his suspected involvement in Young’s death in October.
The Albany Herald previously reported that Young, of Jackson, Miss., came to Albany with his brother-in-law to purchase rims. When they arrived, two unknown men came around the building and shot at them before fleeing the scene on foot.
The APD said officers discovered Young with a bullet wound to the chest. He later died from his injuries. At the time of the incident, investigators said they believed that robbery was the motive for the murder.
Javon Thomas, 18, faces the charges of felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Key’ Jylyn Norman, 20, also faces the charges of felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, Albany police officials said.
A jail listing available for Thomas said he was booked for murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, probation violation and gang activity.
