Tornado watch extended for Southwest Georgia including Dougherty and Lee Counties

The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a tornado watch for multiple counties in Southwest Georgia, including Dougherty and Lee Counties.

The watch is is scheduled to remain in effect until 7 a.m. Sunday morning.

The counties in Georgia included in the watch include Baker, Ben Hill, Berrien, Brooks, Calhoun, Chattahoochee, Clay, Colquitt, Cook, Crisp, Decatur, Dooly, Dougherty, Early, Grady, Harris, Irwin, Lanier, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marion, Miller, Mitchell, Muscogee, Pulaski, Quitman, Randolph, Schley, Seminole, Stewart, Sumter, Talbot, Taylor, Terrell, Thomas, Tift, Turner, Webster, Wilcox and Worth.

A tornado watch is issued when the possibility of tornadoes exists in or near the watch area.
