ALBANY — A suspect in a 2017 triple homicide on East Alberson Drive in Albany, a case in which three victims were shot more than 25 times, was booked into the Dougherty County Jail over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Albany police say an individual is being sought for questioning in a separate deceased person case.

Phyllis Banks, a spokeswoman for the Albany Police Department, said over the weekend that Shon Mallory had been taken to the Dougherty County Jail after being returned to the city from Florida. He was arrested last year in Orlando, Fla., and has since been charged with murder in connection to the East Alberson case.

When he was arrested in Florida in July of last year, Mallory was picked up by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and booked into the Orange County Jail under the name Rasheed Ware. Facing separate charges there of burglary and theft, Ware was eventually identified as Mallory, a suspect wanted by APD in connection to the three East Alberson murders.

Mallory had to face the Florida charges before being returned to Albany.

The homicide case involved the shooting deaths of Adrionna Holmes, 26, Demarquis Williams, 25, and Tyquis Smith, 23. Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler confirmed rumors to The Albany Herald at the time that the victims had been shot at least 25 times.

Another suspect, Ticorey Frazier, was charged in connection to the murders. Banks said last year that Frazier was picked up on June 28 and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The Dougherty County Jail Report for that week showed him charged with two firearm possession counts and a count of obstructing police.

Banks told The Herald in 2017 that a tip connected Frazier to the murders.

In a separate incident, Banks said Monday that investigators want to question Jessica Garvitte, 36, in the recent death of Justin Ball.

Ball, 29, was found dead at 4:42 p.m. on Feb. 28 on the 1500 block of North Monroe Street. He was found hanging in a shed on private property, and Fowler told The Herald the following day that the death had been ruled a suicide.

If anyone has seen Garvitte, they are asked to call APD at (229) 431-2132 or Albany Area CrimeStoppers at (229) 436-TIPS (8477).
