Twins die in Crisp County crash

An Albany driver crashed a Mercury Montego and killed 7-month-old twins before 4:39 a.m. Sunday on Hwy. 300 near Culpepper Drive in Crisp County, said a Georgia State Patrol spokeswoman.

The driver, Essance Satterfield, was taken to Crisp Regional Hospital, the GSP spokeswoman added. It was a single car crash. Satterfield is a physical education teacher at Lincoln Elementary Magnet School in Albany.

No further information was available by 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The crash is under investigation by the GSP Special Collision Reconstruction Team.
