Two persons die in single-vehicle accidents in Albany

ALBANY — The Albany Police Department responded to two fatal crashes in the early hours of Friday morning.

The first occurred on the 1700 block of Dawson Road at approximately 1:42 a.m. A single vehicle, heading east on Dawson Road left the roadway, hit a house and spun clockwise. One of the three passengers in the vehicle died.

Charges in that accident are pending.

The second crash occurred on the 400 block of N. Jefferson St. at approximately 2:47 a.m. A single vehicle, heading north on Jefferson, left the roadway, hit a tree and spun clockwise. The front-seat passenger was ejected and died.

That case has been turned over to the Georgia State Patrol.

Police said, pending notification of family members, names of the persons involved will be released at a later time.
