VALDOSTA – Waitr’s huge success in Albany has prompted another expansion – this time to Valdosta. The food delivery service debuts this week with the official launch set for Thursday. The Waitr app will allow diners to order from their favorite Valdosta restaurants … then send a Waitr driver to deliver it for a flat fee of $5.
Waitr is a top food delivery service in the Albany area with more restaurant deliveries going through Waitr every month. It now has more than 45 area restaurants using the service.
Waitr officials said in a news release they expect the app to grow quickly in Valdosta. To meet the anticipated demand, the company plans to hire 100 people in the area. Waitr will kick off its debut in Valdosta with a special free delivery – anytime diners in the area use the app through Jan. 27, they can get your food delivered free by using the promo code “VALDOSTA” at checkout.
Waitr is available in more than 235 cities across the South, including Albany, Macon, Columbus, Augusta, Savannah and Athens in Georgia. The app’s appeal goes directly to those who don’t want to – or cannot – leave their home or office for their favorite restaurant meal. The flat fee on all orders regardless of order size or the customer’s distance from the restaurant makes Waitr stand out among its competitors.
Dozens of Valdosta-area restaurants have already signed with Waitr, including El Toreo, DuMEALZ, The Beanery Coffee, Blazer’s Wings & Things, GG’s Southern Kitchen, Firehouse Subs, Daylight Donuts, Hug In A Mug Co., Jersey Mike’s Subs, Chick-fil-A, Jessie’s Restaurant & Catering, Big Nick’s, Burritos Mexican Grill, Great American Cookies, The Mix, Hooters, Coyoacan Mexican Restaurant, Taste of the Island, Pizza Quick, The Front Porch, Ella’s Top Corral, Osaka Hibachi & Sushi, Smok’n Pig B-B-Q, Rico’s Tacos, Chicago Fire Dogs and Passage 2 India.
“From live monitoring of deliveries yielding faster door-to-door service to the unique ability to provide full-color photography of every menu item from all participating restaurants, Waitr is seen as a leader in on-demand food ordering and delivery for customers and businesses,” Whitney Savoie, market development director for Waitr, said.
To celebrate its Valdosta-area debut, Waitr will host a launch party at Smok’n Pig B-B-Q on Thursday at 5 p.m. The restaurant is located at 4228 North Valdosta Road. Waitr is encouraging everyone to come out and be part of the city’s launch and meet the local team. Attendees at the free party can expect tasty appetizers, cold drinks and cool “swag” items to take home with them.
Waitr is exceptionally simple to use. After creating an account, consumers choose a restaurant, browse the fully-customizable menu, select their items and tap to submit the order with a credit card. The app can also be used for carryout orders. There is no charge to consumers for placing these orders. In addition, ordering is also available via the Web at waitrapp.com.
