ALBANY — Couples tired of doing the same thing every Valentine’s Day or who cannot get a reservation at their significant other’s favorite restaurant can embrace a change of pace by going to the Wetherbee Planetarium on that night set aside for lovers.

The planetarium, located at Thronateeska Heritage Center, is inviting the public to spend Feb. 14 at “Picnic Under the Stars” from 6-8 p.m.

“Guests are invited to bring their favorite meal and drinks in the planetarium to enjoy while they watch a new planetarium show, as well as a live star show, titled ‘Constellation Love Stories,’” Hannah Beth Hembree, director of museums at Thronateeska, said in a news release.

Availability is limited to 20 couples, so reservations are required. Couples are asked to bring their own picnic basket and drinks. The event is $25 per couple for those who are not Thronateeska members, and $20 per couple for members. Payment is due at the time reservations are made.

Hembree is the contact for couples wishing to reserve a spot. For more information, contact her at (229) 432-6955 or [email protected].

Thronateeska is located at 100 W. Roosevelt Ave. in downtown Albany.
