ALBANY — The Albany Police Department is investigating an aggravated battery incident that was reported early Sunday, available reports show.

Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the APD, said Eric Jackson, 31, reported that he was walking through a parking lot at 2304 W. Gordon Ave. at around 3:30 a.m. when four men approached him and jumped on him.

Banks said Jackson woke up in a ditch with multiple injuries, including two missing teeth.

No contact was immediately made with a suspect. The case remained active on Monday, Banks said. The available police report said the investigation had been turned over to the APD Gang Unit.

A spokeswoman at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital said Monday afternoon that the hospital did not have any information on Jackson’s condition.
