SYLVESTER — Officials with the Georgia State Patrol have confirmed that one of the men involved in a crash in Worth County this past week has died..

Anthony Landrum died as a result of his injuries, the GSP confirmed Tuesday morning.

Reports from the GSP said Landrum was traveling north on State Highway 33 just north of Calhoun Road when the 2008 Ford pickup truck he was driving was involved in a collision with a tractor trailer truck in the south lane being driven by Kenneth Tyner, 53.

Officials said the accident occurred around 10 a.m. Saturday when Landrum failed to maintain his lane and allowed his vehicle to cross the center line into the southbound lane. The impact of the collision caused the tractor trailer to jackknife and end up the woods off the west shoulder of the highway, while the pickup truck left the highway off the east shoulder.

Landrum was airlifted to Macon Medical Center where he later died. Tyner was treated for a broken knee at Phoebe Worth Medical Center in Sylvester.
