ALBANY — Robert McCullogh, 26, received a 20-year prison sentence followed by 20 years on probation Wednesday after pleading guilty to two counts of molesting an 8-year-old girl last year, said a Dougherty Judicial Circuit official.

“I am glad we were able to get another predator off the streets,” said Chris Cohilas, chief assistant district attorney. “I hope he enjoys his stay with the (Georgia) Department of Corrections.”

McCullogh has been in Dougherty County jail since April, 2009, a jail spokeswoman said. At the time of his arrest he was an Albany resident, she added.

“He was caught when the child’s guardian returned home and he ran nude from the little girl’s room,” Cohilas said.
