ALBANY — A man’s wallet was taken in an armed robbery reported to have taken place in East Albany early Saturday, a report from the Albany Police Department said.

A report on the incident said officers responded just after 2:45 a.m. on Saturday. There, a 39-year-old man said he was working off-duty security at 725 E. Broad Ave. — the site of Legend Lounge and Club — when he was robbed at gunpoint in the alley adjacent to the club.

The victim said he was walking to his vehicle, parked on the north side of the alley, when a black man with a black hood, blue shirt and blue jeans with twists in his hair walked up and pulled a black handgun on him, the report said.

The suspect was standing in a section of the alley that was not lit, and took the victim’s gold chain from around his neck and his wallet — which contained his driver’s license and food stamp card — before leaving on foot toward Wheeler Avenue. The suspect did not touch anything else belonging to the victim, the report said of the victim’s account.

The report said the area was checked for the suspect with negative results. The case remains under investigation.
