New Albany Package Store to open on Gillionville Road

ALBANY —Some of the coolers sit empty as new stock flows into the building. Pallets of beer sit wrapped in the parking lot. But sooner rather than later, West Albany will soon be getting a new high-end package store.
According to owner Ronnie Patel, the new 6,500 foot Albany Package Store on Gillionville Road is set to open next week and will specialize in high-end wines, craft beer and cigars.
“I had thought of opening a big new package store since last year,” Patel, who also owns an Eastside Shell Station and a liquor store, said. “We felt this business was needed on the this side of town where there are no big liquor stores and is near good communities. We will have one of the best wine selections in Albany, plus many craft beers and fine cigars.”
Patel said his three years of experience operating a package store will help his new business.
“I have knowledge of expensive wines and we have more space here to stock an extensive collection,” He said. “We will also have more people on the floor, including a wine specialist, to help our customers with their wine and beer decisions.
The business, Patel added, will focus on customer service.
“We intend to offer the best customer service, support and satisfaction in Albany,” Patel said. “If our service is good and our selections are satisfying, (the customers) will come back.”
“We are all very excited. This is going to be a nice store,” Patel said. “It will be the nicest store on this side of town.”
