LEESBURG — Members of the newly charted Exchange Club of Lee County took on their first project Saturday, participating in the annual Leesburg Christmas Parade. The weather was perfect, and 25 Exchange Club members handed out American Flags to kids along the parade route.
One of the many National Exchange Club service projects local clubs participate in is “Give a Kid a Flag to Wave.” The new Lee County club was proud and excited for this to be their first service project in the community. Members gave out approximate 1,800 flags during the event.
Through the Exchange Club’s Programs of Service — Americanism, community service, and youth programs — members support activities that benefit young people, promote pride in our country, and honor military and public service providers, to name a few. Exchange’s National Project is the prevention of child abuse.
Individuals looking for a way to make Lee County a better place for all, and who have a heart for service, are asked to consider becoming a member. Those who join during December will be included as a charter member. Check out our Facebook page — Exchange Club of Lee County — for more info or contact Gary Knight at (229) 894- 6505.
