Liberty House opens office in Terrell County
ALBANY — Liberty House of Albany, which provides emergency shelter and outreach services for all victims of domestic violence and their children, has opened a satellite office in Terrell County.
The orffice is housed in office space in the Department of Family and Children building in Dawson. Advocates are now available in that office from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Established in 1981, Liberty House provides services in 17 counties. the agency received a grant from Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) to finance the new office.
Real estate company honored for relocation efforts
ALBANY — Coldwell Banker Walden and Kirkland of Albany has been honored at the 2014 Cartus Broker Network International Conference recently in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Coldwell Banker Walden and Kirkland was presented the Cartus Five Star Award which recognizes brokers who have met or exceeded their individual objectives for outgoing broker-to-broker referral closings during the year.

Veterans Highway unveiling scheduled Tuesday
LEESBURG — State Ed Rynders, R-Leesburg, will speak at a ceremony Tuesday to unveil the new Veterans’ Memorial Highway signs to be posted on U.S. 19 in Lee County.
The program begins at 9 a.m. outside the T. Page Tharp Governmental Buidling, 102 Starksville Ave. Also expected to attend is state Rep. Jay Roberts, R-Ocilla, who is chairman of the House Transportation Committee.
