One arrested in beauty parlor armed robbery

ALBANY — According to Albany Police Department reports, James Tyrone Parker, 27, was charged with armed robbery in connection with a Thursday theft of purses from customers and employees at a 1103 W. Gordon Ave. beauty salon. He was armed with a handgun when he entered the salon, took several purses and ran away.
“The victims provided a very detailed description of the suspect,” an APD spokeswoman said. “The suspect was recognized by one of the officers and apprehended as he was walking into his apartment.”
