Opera singer to perform at Andrew

CUTHBERT — Jeffrey Ray, who has been on the international opera stage since 1997, will perform at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel at Andrew College.
Newspaper music critics have described Ray as possessing a “rich baritone voice” and a “the sterling voice.”
Ray made his European opera debut at the Deutsche Opera in Berlin and since then has been regularly heard with the company.
Recently, he sang in productions of The Magic Flute, Hansel und Gretel, Madame Butterfly, Moses und Aron and The Cunning Little Vixen. He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors including those from the American Opera Society, the Chicago Union League and the American Berlin Opera Foundation.
Ray performs regularly with the Italian Opera Company of Chicago.
Randolph Arts Council officials say there is no admission charge for the performance, but they suggest an early arrival because seating is limited.
