ALBANY, Ga. — An employee at an Albany restaurant discovered early Thursday morning that the business had been broken into overnight, Albany Police Department officials say.
The burglary at Hooters, 2817 Old Dawson Road, was reported at 8 a.m. Thursday, Phyllis Banks, Albany police spokeswoman, said.
“This morning an employee entered the business and discovered that someone had broken a side window on the west side of the business to gain entry,” Banks said. “Once inside, the suspects entered the office and took an undetermined amount of money from the safe.”
Banks said later Thursday that no suspects had yet been identified in the robbery.
ALBANY POLICE: Albany police responded to at least 37 incidents Wednesday and into the early hours of Thursday, according to available police reports. Police responded to incidents including:
— Motor vehicle theft on the 1400 block of Hoover Street;
— Financial transaction card fraud costing the car owner $910 on the 2100 block of Edgewater Road and an unrelated card fraud on the 900 block of Cherry Avenue;
— Burglary on the 2300 block of West Gordon Avenue;
— Theft by taking on the 1800 block of Gadsden Drive and the 700 block of Red Oak Lane;
–Theft by taking, a television taken by her son, reported by a woman on the 2000 North Riverview Circle;
— Forgery by altering a check reported on the 600 block of North Westover Boulevard;
— Entering auto on the 1500 block of West Lincoln Avenue;
— Missing person juvenile on the 1200 block of 11th Avenue;
— Possession of an ounce of marijuana, a bicyclist on the 300 block of Flintside Drive;
— Open container, a man sitting on a bench holding a can of Sierra Mist with a 750 ml of 80 proof E&J VSOP Superior Reserve Brandy next to his foot on the 300 block of West Highland Avenue;
— Domestic (unfounded) on the 2000 block of Thompkins Avenue, the 2600 block of Colonial Drive and the 500 block of Ninth Avenue;
— Simple battery (domestic violence) on the 3100 block of Crepe Myrtle Court and the 200 block of East Road;
— Criminal trespass (family violence) on the 1400 block of Avalon Avenue;
DOUGHERTY POLICE: Dougherty County police responded to at least 23 calls, according to police reports.
Police responded to incidents including:
— Traffic arrest on the 1500 block of Oakridge Drive and the 1100 block of Liberty Expressway and the 3500 block of Radium Springs Road;
— Traffic crash at the intersection of Fleming Road and Short Street, on the 3200 block of Sylvester Road and the intersection of GA 3 and 133;
— Traffic crash into a raccoon on the 5100 block of Gillionville Road.
DOUGHERTY EMS: Emergency medical services responded to 51 calls on Wednesday. There were 34 medical calls, 16 trauma calls and one other call. Medical calls included, one chest pain, three respiratory problems, four altered mental state, two diabetic complaints, one seizure, one obstetrics, one possible stroke, an allergic reaction, three mental problems, two miscellaneous pain calls, one cardiac arrest and 14 various medical. Trauma calls included 10 vehicle crash injuries and six falls. Other calls are typically standby for other units and patient transport.
LEE SHERIFF: Lee County deputies responded to at least four calls, according to police reports.
Deputies responded to incidents including:
— Animal, dog bite on the 200 block of Wiregrass Way;
— Criminal trespass on the 100 block of TallOaks Court;
— Criminal damage to property on the 100 block of Winding Way.
ALBANY FIRE: Albany firefighters responded to 11 calls, including two vehicle crashes without injuries, a medical assistance, three activated alarms, two grass fires, a trash fire, a vehicle crash with injury and an unauthorized burning.
