ALBANY, Ga. — Albany police responded to at least 26 incidents Monday, according to available reports. Police responded to incidents including:
— Recovered property: a 42-inch Sanyo flat-screen TV found with about three bullet holes in it on the 500 block of Don Cutler Sr. Drive;
— Criminal trespass on the 1200 block of Clark Avenue;
— Entering autos on the 600 block of Sixth Avenue and on the 600 block of Moultrie Road;
— Battery on the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue;
— Burglaries on the 2000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, the 1000 block of Dunes Avenue and the 400 block of Alice Avenue;
— Possession of controlled substances on the 700 block of South Davis Street;
— Theft by taking: $50 worth of aluminum cans on the 2300 block of Gillionville Road;
— Arson in the first degree of a vehicle on the 100 block of Lennox Drive;
— Theft by taking of $248 worth of truck batteries on the 700 block of West Westover Boulevard;
— Forgery, counterfeit bills on the 300 block of Cordele Road;
— Vandalism (family violence) on the 200 block of Whitehead Drive;
–Domestic disturbance (unfounded) on the 100 block of North Hardy Street.
DOUGHERTY POLICE: Dougherty County police responded to at least 20 calls, according to reports. Police responded to incidents including:
— Traffic arrest; wanted person at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Tremont Avenue;
— Criminal damage; someone shot out the windshield of a 2005 Pontiac Montana van on the 2600 block of Lonesome Road;
— Traffic arrests for suspended licenses at the intersection of Radium Springs Road and Westview Drive and the intersection of Mock and Moultrie roads;
— Family violence (verbal) on the 4800 block of Pinto Drive;
— Accidental damage; a tree limb fell on a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee on the 200 block of Hollis Drive;
— Wanted person arrest on the 5800 block of Newton Road.
ALBANY FIRE: Albany firefighters responded to 46 calls from Friday to early Tuesday including a Tuesday fire at around 6 a.m. destroyed a $20,000 single-wide manufactured home at the Devencrest Mobile Home Park on the 1800 block of Liberty Expressway. No residents were at the home. Four trucks with more than 12 firefighters responded to the scene. The fire was started by an electric short, according to Assistant Fire Chief Allen Cravey; 13 activated alarms, four fire safety programs, steam mistaken for smoke, unauthorized burning, three electrical shorts, three gas leaks, unattended cooking, four EMS assists, assist Albany Police Department, five power lines down, two false alarms, two lightning strikes, two vehicle fires, an overturned tractor-trailer, fire in a clothes dryer, trash bib fire, and a tree limb down on a cable line.
