ALBANY, Ga. — Albany police responded to at least 49 incidents Friday into the early hours of Saturday, according to available police reports. Police responded to incidents including:
— Rape in a vacant building on the 800 block of West Highland Avenue;
— Burglary on the 2100 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard, the 500 block of North Monroe Street, the 1800 block of Sycamore Court, the 600 block of Johnson Road, the 600 block of South Monroe Street and the 2500 block of Crescent Drive;
— Sexual battery on the 1200 block of West Whitney Avenue;
— Entering auto on the 400 block of Hickory Lane;
— Theft by taking a check card, checks and $140 in cash on the 400 block of West Third Avenue;
— Motor vehicle theft on the 700 block of West First Avenue;
— Forgery of currency on the 900 block of South Slappey Boulevard;
— Aggravated assault on the 300 block of West Highland Avenue;
— Simple battery, cruelty to a child (family violence) on the 900 block of West First Street and on the 600 block of Johnson Road;
— Assault (family violence) on the 200 block of Broadway Street;
— Vandalism (family violence) on the 100 block of Telfair Avenue;
— Simple battery (family violence) on the 400 block of Florence Drive;
— Simple battery, assault (domestic violence) on the 2400 block of Nottingham Way;
— Simple battery (domestic violence) 200 South Mock Road;
— Domestic (unfounded) on the 1400 block of Avalon Avenue and the 900 block of 10th Avenue.
DOUGHERTY POLICE: Dougherty County police responded to at least 40 calls, according to police reports.
Police responded to incidents including:
— Fraud on the 1200 block of Paul Lane. The victim received a $3,800 overpayment check for property listed online for sale at $350. The person who sent the check wanted the $3,450 overpayment returned with the purchased property. The overpayment check was not good to begin with;
— Fraud on the 3200 block of Sylvester Road. Victim said his Social Security number was used by another to obtain $2,500 in income tax refunds from the IRS. The IRS is investigating;
— Family violence (battery) on the 6000 block of Newton Road;
— Reckless conduct, a 17-year-old boy shot a juvenile in the forehead with a BB gun;
— Drunken driving on the 2700 block of North Slappey Boulevard.
