ALBANY, Ga. — Albany police responded to at least 44 incidents Tuesday into the early hours of Wednesday, according to available reports. Police responded to incidents including:
— A robber armed with a handgun walked up to a convenience store cashier’s window at KS Food on the 1100 block of Newton Road at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. He demanded money and took an undetermined amount. The robber is described as an about 17-year-old black male with a light complexion, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall. He was wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt and a blue jacket;
— Thefts by taking on the 2900 block of Madeline Road and the 100 block of South Jefferson Street;
— Simple battery on the 100 block of Patrol Drive;
— Motor vehicle theft of a 2010 Mercedes E 350 on the 800 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard;
— Criminal damage to an air conditioner and theft of copper on the 2500 block of Cherokee Drive;
— Interference with a city officer on the 700 block of Holloway Avenue;
— Drunken driving on the 400 block of Meadowlark Drive;
— Battery on the 1600 block of Devon Court;
— Officers responded to a rape; the address is redacted from the report as is standard procedure;
— Burglaries on the 2400 block of Jackson Street, the 400 block of South Monroe Street and the 1800 block of Sycamore Court;
— Entering auto on the 1100 block of West Broad Avenue;
— Demented person on the 700 block of Bobbitt Drive;
— Aggravated assault on the 1800 block of Seay Court;
— Assault (family violence) on the 600 block of Johnson Road;
— Domestic disturbances (unfounded) on the 2400 block of Brierwood Drive, the 100 block of Valencia Drive, the 1300 block of East Fourth Avenue, the 400 block of Vick Street, the 200 block of Edwards Drive, the 200 block of Barton Avenue, the 400 block of West Society Avenue, the 1400 block of Newton Road and the 600 block of Willis Drive.
DOUGHERTY POLICE: Dougherty County Police responded to at least eight calls Tuesday, according to reports. Police responded to incidents including:
— Vehicle crashes into deer on South Countyline Road and at the intersection of Old Dawson Road and Forrester Drive;
— Traffic crash at the intersection of Sylvester and Branch roads.
LEE SHERIFF: Lee County deputies responded to at least two calls Tuesday, according to reports. Deputies responded to incidents including:
— Forgery of a check on the 2600 block of Ledo Road;
— Wanted person apprehended in Albany on Lee County warrants and transferred to the Lee County Jail.
ALBANY FIRE: Albany firefighters responded to 62 calls from Friday through Tuesday, including two structure fires from electrical shorts, two vehicle crashes, 12 public service calls, three EMS assists, two tree limbs into power lines, eight grass fires, a trash fire, nine activated alarms, six false alarms, a laundry room fire, four smoke scares, a brush fire, three unauthorized burns, two unattended cooking calls, clean up spilled automotive fluid, four vehicle fires and an overheated clothes dryer.
