ALBANY — Albany police responded to at least 26 incidents Wednesday into the early hours of Thursday, according to available police reports. Police responded to incidents including:
— Theft by taking a purse on the 200 block of Wells Avenue;
— Motor vehicle theft on the 1000 block of South Cleveland Street;
— Burglary, theft of a bicycle on the 500 block of Don Cutler Sr. Drive;
— Theft by receiving stolen property, a laptop computer, on the 2000 block of Schlling Avenue;
— Theft by taking nine pairs of shoes from a residence on the 500 block of Don Cutler Sr. Drive;
— Simple battery on the 1100 block of West Lincoln Avenue;
— Theft by taking on the 600 block of Burke Avenue, the 1100 block of East residence Avenue and the 400 block of Lipsey Drive;
— Motor vehicle theft on the 800 block of Corn Avenue and the 800 block of Ledo Road;
— Rape on the 1400 block of Silican Drive;
— Simple battery (domestic) on the 400 block of Station Crossing Road;
— Assault (family violence) on the 2500 block of Olivia Street;
— Domestic (unfounded) on the 100 block of Marie Road.
DOUGHERTY POLICE: Dougherty County police responded to at least 15 calls, according to police reports.
Police responded to incidents including:
— family violence (battery) on the 2500 block of Betty’s Drive;
— Traffic crash (deer) on Georgia Highway 234, less than a mile east of Old Thompson Road;
— Mental subject on the 900 block of Westview Drive;
— family violence (oral) on the 2000 block of Weymouth Drive and the 1200 block of Nixon Drive.
DOUGHERTY EMS: Emergency medical services responded to 56 calls on Wednesday. There were 36 medical calls, 15 trauma calls and five other calls. Medical calls included, four chest pains, six respiratory problems, a faint, two diabetic complaints, three seizures, one mental problems, seven miscellaneous pain calls, one cardiac arrest and 11 various medical. Trauma calls included five vehicle crash injuries, five falls, three lacerations and two fights/assaults. Other calls are typically standby for other units and patient transport.
ALBANY FIRE: Albany firefighters responded to nine calls, including a medical assist, a trash fire, four activated alarms, an unauthorized burning, a false alarm and unattended cooking in a residence that led to $10,000 in damages.
