FORT VALLEY — Fort Valley State University will host its annual scholarship luncheon with CNN political analyst and bestselling author Bakari Sellers serving as the keynote speaker.

The 36th annual event will take place Feb. 20 at noon in the Health and Physical Education Complex on FVSU’s campus.

Held annually on President’s Day, the luncheon is FVSU’s largest single-day fundraiser providing scholarships for students.

Sellers, a two-time New York Times best-selling author, civil rights activist, attorney, entrepreneur and legislator will address the crowd of scholars and supporters.

To date, this fundraiser, along with earnings from the university’s endowment fund, has awarded more than $1.5 million in scholarships to students.
