PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Thomasville boys upend Bainbridge

THOMASVILLE — After escaping upset-minded Cairo Friday night, Thomasville shot down Bainbridge Saturday night in a nonregion game 57-52.

The Bearcats, who fell to 7-2 on the season, were led by Devonte Jones’ 13 points. Myles Thomas also added 13 points, while Trevon Shaw scored 12 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in a strong performance.

CAIRO BOYS 38, PELHAM 34: Cairo topped Pelham in a nonregion game. Deuaun Jones led the Hornets with 11 points.

CALHOUN COUNTY BOYS 58, LANIER COUNTY 33: Herald Super 6er Quenten Taylor led Calhoun County to a victoy over Lanier County in a nonregion game. Taylor led the way with 27 points, while Jacoby Cratic added seven and Sherrod Williams six for the Cougars, who improved to 9-0 on the season.

AMERICUS-SUMTER BOYS 64, CRISP COUNTY 48: Juwan High led Americus-Sumter with 27 points and D.J. Harris added 12 as the Panthers topped visiting Crisp County.

SEMINOLE COUNTY BOYS 84, BAKER COUNTY 40: Herald Super 6er Jordan Harris led Seminole County with 14 points, Alex Fudge added 13 and Anfernee King added 12 as Seminole County crushed Baker County. Jahmyka Pearson added 11 points for the Indians.

PELHAM GIRLS 97, CAIRO 17: Pelham improved to 8-0 on the season with a nonregion rout of Cairo. Pelham had five players finish in double figures. Herald Super 6er Briuanna Freeman and Quadranique Franklin each had 16 points to lead the way. Mahogany Randle scored 15 points and both Destiny Thomas and Harmony Smith each added 11 points.

BAINBRIDGE GIRLS 37, THOMASVILLE 35: In a nail-biter, Bainbridge held off Thomasville in a nonregion game. Patra Parris led the Lady Bearcats with 16 points, while Alex Carter chipped in eight for Bainbridge.
